Teacher: A long time ago people thought there were only four elements. Can anyone guess what they were?
Me: Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished.

2/5 Stars - Subject: It’s not so good, there’s some moldy points on it., January 15, 2012
Review: I don’t like it. It’s not so good, there’s some moldy points on it. I didn’t return it, because after my family recieving it a month later, I opened this package and found some moldy points on it.

Dustin is resolved
Be more of a kid, and never apologize for it. Especially to myself.
Lose some weight, yo. But be a nerd about it.
Get my first implant.
Go skydiving. Gotta lose weight first, though.
Follow my interest in personal mobility. Is 2012 ready for these?
Read the entire X-Men comics library. All of them.
New Years Resolution 2012:
To be the very best like no one ever was.

Obligatory "best of times/worst of times" post
Favorite things about 2011:
Another year with Dakota.
Another Penny Arcade Expo and trip to Seattle, this time with Dakota.
Bastion was my favorite game of the year. Its themes on inequality and racism, combined with its brilliant soundtrack, visionary voice acting and tight combat have left me thinking about the game almost every day. This was a huge year of wins for indie games and the...

And at first I’m embarrassed, but then I remember that we have brie, and American, and parmesan, and cheddar, and munster, and mozzorella, and I am glad.

Brother Cavil: In all your travels, have you ever seen a star go supernova?
Ellen Tigh: No.
Brother Cavil: No? Well, I have. I saw a star explode and send out the building blocks of the Universe. Other stars, other planets and eventually other life. A supernova! Creation itself! I was there. I wanted to see it and be part of the moment. And you know how I perceived one of the most glorious events in the universe? With these ridiculous gelatinous orbs in my skull! With eyes designed to perceive only a tiny fraction of the EM spectrum. With ears designed only to hear vibrations in the air.
Ellen Tigh: The five of us designed you to be as human as possible.
Brother Cavil: I don't want to be human! I want to see gamma rays! I want to hear X-rays! And I want to - I want to smell dark matter! Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can't even express these things properly because I have to - I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid limiting spoken language! But I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws! And feel the wind of a supernova flowing over me! I'm a machine! And I can know much more! I can experience so much more. But I'm trapped in this absurd body! And why? Because my five creators thought that God wanted it that way!

Seven billion people on the planet
But we still insist on owning land, breeding, burying our dead, and eating animals that need more space than we do.

Sorry I'm not sorry
But if you are trying to sell me a $23,000 technology solution, you should probably not turn up 15 minutes late to our meeting. That’s your problem, not mine. It’s also not my problem that you’re going to be at a convention all next week and can’t reschedule for another 7 days. So no, I would not like to get started. I would have liked to have gotten started at our...

This is a really interesting look at indie game development, from some of my favorite folks in the industry. Check it out!

Being on Twitter during an Apple press event
Is what I imagine it would feel like if I were to walk into a high school party. Everyone is having fun and drinking Smirnoff Ice but I just want to shake them and make them realize that they’re going to grow up soon and move on to bigger and better things.
