I finished watching United States of Tara this week. It shot into my top 10 favorite shows when I saw that they weren’t going to make a big deal out of one of the main character’s sexuality. He was just gay - it wasn’t a big deal. And that is really fucking nice, Hollywood, so please take note.
I’ll never properly understand why all of the best shows get cancelled before their time, but this is one pity party I don’t mind being in so much, mainly because it’s filled with people who have really excellent taste in television. And that happens to be a trait I find very telling of people.

The United States of Tara, S03E03

  • Grandma: You have such soft hands for a boy. You're a gay, aren't you?
  • Marshall: I am.
  • Grandma: How is that?
  • Marshall: It's like Christmas every day.
